When The Sun Shines

Name : Rolf Harris

When did you first start following Cowden? : I was on walkabout in fife following a sell out concert at Kelty club in the 60's. I was standing at the bar in Wee Jimmies waiting for a flagon of the amber nectar when a stranger recognised me and said "What'll it be Neebur?". I misunderstood this as an Aboriginal war cry and stuck the nut on him. It ended up that he was a Townie and a few of the locals bought me drink all night for doing this for the local community so I have always had a soft spot for Cowdenbeath.

What's your favourite Cowden moment? : It's a toss up between the two promotion winning seasons, I think that Billabong Brownlie's mob just sneaks it though.

Any amusing stories? : Not really, but when I wrote "2 Little Boys" it was loosely based around the on-field antics of Merv Jones and Bobby McCullie. I was forced into changing the lyrics from "Don't pretend you can lay there dying, when there's room on my boot for you." I still think I should have used these words as the song lost a lot of it's meaning after that.

Ever considered supporting another team? : Well, coming from Australia, Queen of the South would have been an appropriate team. Their name reflects her majesties proud heritage to our land which is incidentally the furthermost Southern point from the British Isles. Oh, and there's also the fact that they shag a lot of sheep as well.
